Fees and Payment

Fees

Translation

Fees for translation are normally based on the wordcount, plus a time element, as relevant, arising from time-consuming issues of imperfect legibility or complex layout, together with any other services required (stamping, signing & dating, certifying, swearing, notarising, etc).

Obvious substantial repetition within documents is taken into account, for which a fee based on the time taken to demonstrate the identical nature of such repetition will apply.

A minimum fee will apply for small documents.

An urgency premium may be charged for urgent work.

Proofreading/checking/editing/reviewing/revising/rewriting/abstracting/summarising

These services are charged at an hourly rate with a minimum charge of one hour (unfortunately, on occasion documents are poorly drafted and may require a substantial expenditure of time, consequently, in general, the better-drafted a document the more-economical my service).

Stamping, signing & dating, certifying, swearing, notarising

These services will be charged at a rate taking into account any ancillary expenses and time required for their execution.

Interpreting

In general, interpreting fees are based on an hourly, half-day or all-day rate. All foreseeable incidental expenses are to be reimbursed upfront or provided on a prepaid prereserved basis (hotel accommodation, travel tickets, etc). Any other incidental expenses will be included in the final invoice.

Negotiability

All fees are negotiable; some influencing factors may be: job size, delivery period, speed of payment, etc.

Payment terms

Corporate/business clients

Unless otherwise agreed, invoices will be settleable in full within 30 calendar days from date of invoice, preferably by direct bank transfer into my uk bank account.

Individuals/private clients

Invoices will be settleable in full with cleared payment upfront into my uk bank account (preferably by direct bank transfer or cheque), or in cash.
